AAPS Board Begins Budget Talks; Graduation Rates Up

Tonight’s study session, beginning at 5:30 PM, focuses on the FY 2016-17 AAPS budget. Budget talks begin on the heels of yesterday’s  approval of education budgets in the state’s House of Representatives.

Study sessions allow the trustees to explore a topic more in depth than is usually allowed for at a regular meeting. After the study session, the trustees will move into a regular meeting, scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. They will hear a report on graduation data and will be presented with two first briefings: bid pack 4 for the Mitchell expansion and TRIG purchases. Superintendent Jeanice Swift will report out on her recent trip to China.

Gun Concerns Propel AAPS to Cancel School on Election Day 5/3

After a cancelled regular meeting earlier this month, the AAPS Board of Education (BOE) holds a study session. Tonight’s study session focuses on bond planning and the special education millage.

Board OKs Global Education Partnership

Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting (March 9. 2016): Forsythe Middle School, 1655 Newport Rd

During tonight’s regular meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, the trustees will hear two informational items: the NWEA achievement report and the monthly budget monitoring report.

There will be a first briefing on a Project Read recommendation.

Second briefings will be on the budget amendment and the Global Education Partnership with BCC.

Voting tonight will be on the budget amendment and the BCC partnership.
