Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting (February 24, 2016): Forsythe Middle School, 1655 Newport Rd
The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education will be meeting at 5:30 for an executive session, citing client/attorney privilege. During tonight’s regular meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, the trustees will hear the monthly monitoring report.
There will be first briefings on a budget amendment, as well as a Global Education Partnership with BCC International Education Group.
Two special briefings will be brought before the board, both concerning the Mitchell Elementary expansion. A construction manager contract recommendation will be made, and there will be a mechanical upgrades request.
The 4000 Policy series review will be up for a second briefing.
Voting tonight will be on the Mitchell expansion construction manager contract, the Mitchell mechanical upgrades, and the 4000 Policy series changes.

During tonight’s regular meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, the trustees will hear two informational items: the MSTEP achievement report and the annual technology report.
There will be a first briefing on a sunset review of the Human Resources 4000 Policies. The Governance Committee recommends changes to some, but not all, of the policies.
Second briefings will be the Internet Service Expansion and the Technology Firewall Purchase.

Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting (January 27, 2016): Forsythe Middle School, 1655 Newport Rd.
During tonight’s meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, the board will hear an informational report on districtwide ACT results. They will also be given first briefing reports that include the Mitchell expansion project, an Internet service expansion, and a technology firewall purchase.
Additionally, the board will be presented with a special briefing on the district liability insurance bid. Despite receiving two insurance proposals with lower premiums, the recommendation will be for the district to continue with Daly Merritt for a total cost of $771,024. The general fund budget will cover the costs of the insurance premiums.
Voting tonight will be on the liability insurance bid recommendation and on the adoption of the revised Policy 1300, which focuses on participation at board meetings.
