Board Mulls Supporting Special Ed Millage Ballot Proposal

Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting (December 9, 2015): Ann Arbor District Library – 4th Floor Board Room

The board is holding an executive session at 5:00 PM, in which they will conduct an informal evaluation of superintendent Jeanice Swift. They will also be considering material exempt from disclosure under attorney/client privilege.

During the regular meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, Jenna Bacalor will give the annual report on the Rec and Ed program. The trustees will hear first briefing reports, which include: a quote for the second phase of the soundfield replacement project,  a student achievement data warehouse bid recommendation, and a resolution to support the ballot proposal for the special education millage.

The board will be presented with a special briefing on the Pioneer High School boiler repair project for a cost not to exceed $69,900.  The amount would be funded through the Sinking Fund.

Voting tonight will be on the Pioneer boiler repair.

AAPS Schools Nearing Capacity

Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education study session (November 18, 2015): W. Scott Westerman Preschool and Family Center

The board is holding a study session this evening, focusing on the AAPS Facilities Utilization/Capacity Study.

Study sessions allow the trustees to explore a topic more in depth than is usually allowed for at a regular meeting. There will be no voting at tonight’s meeting.

FY 15 Financial Audit for AAPS Board of Ed

Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting (November 11, 2015): Forsythe Middle School auditorium

During the regular meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM, the trustees will hear the monthly budget monitoring report, as well as the FY 15 Annual Financial Audit from Plante/Moran. There are no first briefings scheduled for this evening.

There will be a second briefing on the 3000 Policies that the trustees reviewed at the previous meeting. After much discussion at that meeting on Policy 3760, no changes are recommended.

Voting tonight will be on adopting the 3000 Policies and the revised Policy 1520.

The executive session, which had been scheduled to be called at 9:00 PM, has been cancelled.
